Inactive forums?
on: March 16, 2015, 23:50

I'm quite possibly going to be in an LSJ game in a number of weeks, and would like to discuss some stuff with people who've been playing a while.

Given the dearth of activity, this is evidently not where people hang out to talk LSJ. Nor is FB, given that the page is a unidirectional announcements page rather than a group page.

So where *do* people discuss LSJ stuff?

People discuss it on both here and the facebook page. It's just a matter of finding people with the time to respond.

I love this game. I have/had/will have/hope to get back a 145h level Halfling Ranger, a 13th level Druid, Horizon Walker, Nature Warden, a 5th level Bard, and a 9th level Paladin of Lohm, and a 3rd level Cleric of Ardra.

Ask and ye shall receive. Some of us are better about answering than others. You must have posted right after I checked on Tuesday and I guess I never checked her yesterday. I always try to check it at least once a day for posts and respond if they're there.

I must not have the correct FB page.. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Legends-of-the-Shining-Jewel/109137657018?fref=ts has six posts by three people this year. There are three posts by others for the entire *year* of 2014. Got link?

Meanwhile… I'm looking at a sky elf character, because it's been too blasted long since I played anything with wings. I'm wondering if there are any racial archetypes for various classes, or if it's allowable to use archetypes for strix or other winged races. Otherwise, you have the assorted classes that train you in heavy armor, even though you can't really move in it in the only way that matters.

I'm also wondering why the racial paragon class gives levels of _bard_ when it's a spellcasting class that relies on charisma, rather than on a class that uses one of the mental stats the race gets bonuses to.

Admittedly, the reason to even consider that is the improved flight maneuverability. 3.5 had a monstrous feat for that. Did it make its way into LSJ in any other way?

The short answer is no. Racial archetypes are not allowed. I'd suggest looking at our book, available on paizo, or the APG, or the core book. As those are the only books allowed. As far as getting the improved flight feat, that may be in our book.

We only have the core rule book and apg currently allowed, we are working on getting other books approved, it's just taking time. I never knew that there was an improved flight maneuverability feat like that. To my knowledge no, it never made it's way into pathfinder.

As for why Sky Elf Paragon gives those particular bonuses I am not sure, though remember, Bards don't need nearly as much charisma as other casters since they only get 6th level spells and figure their dc's like everyone else now. I think what it does is basically give you spells as a 2nd level bard, so you only need an 11 charisma for that really, never noticed that before, kinda neat. I will say that a lot of the paragon classes are rather sub par but that one is actually rather nice now that I've read it all.

As for the face book page, you need to friend Eric Clark and ask him to invite you to the private one.

Oh, and lest I forget, another sky-elf! I think that will make 3 of use? I don't know how many people actually play one but I can think of two active ones right now. Not sure if there are more than that.
